VTP Vintage Glass Watch Crystal "R & L F" 15-0/16 (33.8mm) - NOS

VTP Vintage Glass Watch Crystal size 15-0/16 = ~33.8mm with a thickness of ~1.mm, new old stock.  The profile on this crystal, referred to as a R & L F by VTF (for which I have no reference for what that means) is a very high dome lunette with a sharp taper closes to the edge which I've tried really hard to capture in the pictures. Inverted, the crystal resembles a saucer, and knowing that very old French & English watches needed more space for large hands and room to set the time, I expect this crystal was made for those watches. These come from glass crystal cabinets that are easily well over 80 years old, so they give real meaning to the term NOS. That said, in my 40 years of experience with them I've not found the older crystals to be any more or less brittle than anything you could find today. They are often quite dirty and this one is no exception.
